This project entitled “FILE SECURITY”
implements the DES algorithm in the java language. The project has been
designed using swings. There are 2 menus a File menu and a Help menu. The File
menu has encrypt, decrypt and exit as it sub menus. Similarly the Help menu has
About as its sub menu. The speciality of the project is that the same code can
act both as the server and the client. So while clicking the Encrypt option it
comes a Encrypt dialog box, where you should specify the file name to be
encrypted and the 8 character key, now the file gets Encrypted, again if you
click the Decrypt option it comes a decrypt dialog box where you should specify
the filename and the key for Decryption, now the file gets Decrypted, offers
high security for the files.

multimedia technologies has offered many facilities in the transmission,
reproduction and manipulation of data how ever this advance has also bought the
problem such of copy right protection for content providers. Digital water
marking is one of the proposed solutions for copy right protection of
multimedia. A water mark embeds an imperceptible signal into such as audio,
image and video which indicates whether or not the content is copyrighted.
